Rian Johnson, who directed and wrote the screenplay for the original feature, will return in both capacities for the sequel.
Principal photography is set to begin this summer with Greece serving as a shooting location.
In March, it was announced that Netflix had purchased the rights to two further Knives Out-related projects for nearly $470 million.
